MOVIES

A movie is… a world to discover, an escape from reality. I’m a truly film lover. My best job in the world is being a film critic: watch movies free, and people PAY ME FOR THAT?! Amazing
This love of movies was instilling for my mom. In fact, our plans for the weekend (when we have time) is watch movies in TV or go to the cinema.
The best of movies, in my opinion is know the characters, their histories, be surprised in the course of the film and naturally, if you identify with the history (you make de “implicit pact”) it’s so much better!

My love for the movies is so great that when I can, I watch a movie program called “El Séptimo Vicio” (The Seventh Vice) on Channel Via X. In that Chilean program I see documentary short films, short fictions, animated short films and film trailers. It’s so great because you can learn and discover new authors and works.
Enjoy this wonderful art!

A photo...

This photo is very important to me. It was take in the party’s birthday of my cousins, María Jesús and Maite. They’re sisters and godfather’s daughters. (My godfather is my dad’s brother). They have a one year of difference each other and their birthday is in the same month, this is why they celebrate it together.
In the photo (from left to right) there is: my brother José Miguel; my cousin Maite (the youngest); my other cousin José Pablo (son of my dad’s sister) and I. They’re laughing at my expense, because my crazy face. This is a moment of joy and happiness caught in a photo.
Appreciate this photo because we usually don’t see each other and its great have something to remember them.
I really love make people laugh, and in particular to my little cousins. And of course, I really love them and like see them happy.

Take care of your family; will always be there for you.

After the fire
Valparaíso is a cultural and bohemian (for a while ago) city, is situated on the central coast of Chile.
In that city, since four days ago, started a fire in the hills where a lot of families live. The fire destroyed their houses totally. There are 11.000 victims for the disaster.
It’s important to consider the most houses were overcrowding huts, the wind was so fast and the water to combat that fire was so limited. It was the recipe of a disaster.
But I want to talk about the health care and the solidarity after the fire:
It’s really impressive see all the love and support of disinterested persons from all the country and neighboring countries. All the food, clothes, and of course, the medical assistance like vaccines to target influenza, meningitis, psychologists and doctors. For the group of volunteers, there are tetanus vaccines too.
Now, in my University there is also a drive to collect toys and sporting goods for the victims. I think that’s really adorable.
I hope I can help people who lost everything, EVERYTHING.
Do you want help too? DO IT!

Kisses

My favorite technological object

My favorite technological object is my cellphone. My godfather gifts me after a man assaults me and I lost my old cellphone, in September of the last year.
What I like of my cellphone is the fast connection to the world, to my family and to my friends. I use for that every day, for communicate with them via calls, whatsapp and facebook.
And I take photos with my cellphone too. I love photography! And when I see something beautiful I like picture and save it. The last year I discovered “Dropbox” is a web site to saves files in something similar to a “cloud” in internet. With this program, I can lose the cellphone or the tablet and the photos stay save.

My life would be isolated without it.
My expectations for a new semester

Hello, for this new semester, the first of 2014, I wish approve all the subjects (Administrative Law, Microeconomics, Science Theory, Statistics Applied, Administration Theory I and English III, of course).
I wish I could go to all lessons of Belly Dance. I wish I wasn’t so busy to read all the papers I have to and LIVE.

My timetable is so uncomfortable, because I go into after lunch to class and spend my whole afternoon in the University. Then, when I come back to my home, I’m so tired for doing anything. I hate my timetable, because, in the morning time flies and I can’t study or read in the same way I do in the afternoon. And sometimes, I have class in the mornings too. I wish for the second semester, direction change my timetable.

POST 1

My full name is Ximena de los Ángeles Alvarado Silva, but I don't like people call me “Ximena”, NEVER. The reason of that, it’s because in my family there are a lot of people called “Ximena”, and I’m the younger of that’s “Ximena’s”. Because of that, I prefer “Xime”, “Ximenita” or “Xi”.
I’m Xi, a Chilean woman, I’m 19 years old and I live in Santiago. I was born in the capital city, a sunny day, on January 25th 1995.
We’re a four-member family, my parents plus my brother and I. I’m the older sister of my brother. His name is José Miguel, and he was born on February 25th 1997. My parents have been married for a 20 years, and they’re crazy in love each other’s.
I studied in same school for fourteen years, and now I see that I had to go of there, change of school. It’s was a bittersweet experience.
After that, I joined the University of Chile in 2013 with 17 years old, to study Public Administration. And I think was the better decision in my live, until now. The people here are so relax, funny and support. I love be here, I love this people, I feel like in home. Here I can be me; just me, and nobody discriminate for that.
I really like read novels, watch movies and listen to music. I practice running in the weekends, and belly dance.
